Folk rock multi-instrumentalist Bill Callahan revisits his standout 2013 LP Dream River with a reworked, dub reinterpretation entitled Have Fun With God on Drag City. Here, Callahan has taken his rich, American folk pieces and pushed them hard though a thick Jamaican dub filter. The results are reverb-drenched, effects-laden ‘versions’ reminiscent of the early remix practice performed by pioneers such as Lee ‘Scratch’ Perry or King Tubby.
