Lauer is perhaps best known for his Arto Mwambe project alongside Christian Beißwenger, but he's always been a solid producer in his own right, as this new release on Gerd Janson's Running Back shows. The EP kicks off with 'Tyler', a dynamic piece of Italo-influenced house, full of shiny chords and thumping bass, while the 'Beat Mix' of that track strips things down, uncovering the underlying club muscle. 'Boshs' struts with slightly more of an acid flex to it. 'Angus' is possibly the highlight, a playful and understated gem of chugging house.
