Bridging the gap between his looser, experimental early sounds and the mirror ball compatible tracks he made his name with, ‘Strandbar’ balances the two poles in Terje’s life, blending clattering samba drums with whirling synths and a cool pulsing keyboard that wouldn’t go amiss in a club VIP area. The ‘Disko’ mix adds some deep lascivious wah-wah guitar, while the final ‘Bonus’ side fleshes out the percussion with rattling sound effects and strings that scream higher and higher, like a motorbike accelerating.
