Originally created in 2018, Peter Rehberg’s previously unreleased collaboration with choreographer Margrét Sara Guðjónsdóttir is unveiled on Liminal States. Guðjónsdóttir’s choreography seems to exist at the edge of the body, exploring the collective unconscious, exchanges of energy, and altered states of perception. Paired with Peter Rehberg’s compositions, unseen experiences unfold: sharp, reedy resonating drones form the bed for sounds to delay and echo into the throbbing ocean of voltage, the waves sparking and trembling with textural delight. Liminal States is a volcanically active, harmonically rich soundscape, with a communion of chords at every compass point.
