Ask yourselves: what sort of music is produced when you combine wild teenage ambition, strong familial ties and, above all, Pacific Northwest remoteness? Brothers Donnie and Joe Emerson couldn’t have known they were answering the question with 1979’s power pop chimera Dreamin’ Wild, a private press curio-turned-cult classic of wondrous naivety that would go on to inspire the likes of Ariel Pink, Dean Blunt and Inga Copeland decades later.
