German producer DJ Koze has resurfaced after some time away with a new LP for the Pampa Records label entitled Music Can Hear Us. Ever enigmatic, Koze is keeping much of the album close to the vest until 2025, but we have been graced with its first single ‘Pure Love’. A slowly unfurling slice of folk-y pop, it’s all mandolins and hand percussion giving space for Damon Albarn and his patented laconic vocals. Sparked from a chance meeting at a Peruvian salt mine, the track proves an excellent vehicle for two musicians known for straddling genres and motifs with ease.
