Legendary Maastricht techno label EPM have assembled another compilation of their brightest hitters, including classics, new material and rarities in one seriously hard to fault package. There are no rose-tinted spectacles here and only the cream of the cream have made it through, the most recent of which is The Third Man’s starry house gem ‘Sleep It Off’. ‘90s mystery man BPMF contributes the relentless ‘This Is Techno Soul’, a jabbing, 808 juggling monster, while Carl Taylor’s icy ‘Perplexer’ is a masterclass in floor-zapping beats that blossom from minimalism. Like a near-perfect DJ set, ‘Selected Volume 2’ cherry-picks the highlights of a label with already superbly high standards.
