Chicago footwork pioneer Traxman returns to Planet Mu for the third installment in his Da Mind Of Traxman compilation series. This edition (the first in over 10 years) was lovingly assembled by fellow Mu artist Sinjin Hawke from a treasure trove of edits and versions dating back as far as 2005. An elder statesman of Chicago dance music at large, Vol.3 sees Traxman play around with all kinds of moods and motifs under the juke and footwork banner, even texturing shades of his 90s house efforts on Dance Mania. The bounce-y ‘Traxman Da Prophet’ lands somewhere between sped up soul and Mario Kart in the best way, while ‘I’ll Write The Hook’ applies burly horns to something hueing closer to Chicago drill.
