Following the millennia spanning trilogy of Peasant, 2020, and The Ruby Cord, Richard Dawson scales back his grand progressive folk affairs to focus on the little things in life. End of the Middle recentres Dawson’s guitar and voice as he weaves quaint tales under the shade of the family tree, finding calm and joy in garden path explorations of domestic and agricultural life on tracks like ‘Polytunnel’, where his voice and twangy guitar plucks are flecked with sincerity and contentment.
