Modeselektor’s 50 Weapons imprint compiles a wide-spanning collection of remixes (both released and previously unreleased) coming from artists from all corners of electronic music. Collecting remixes 01-09 in chronologic order, the imprint turns its focus towards some of the back catalogue’s more floor-friendly material. Stripped, mechanical reworks from via Robert Hood and Marcel Dettmann, who remix tracks from Benjamin Damage and Cosmin TRG respectively whereas Moderat’s epic ‘Rusty Nails’ is given a harrowing retreatment from Shackleton and another voodoo-inspired version from T++. Operating from the more experimental angle is Rashad Becker’s take on Addison Groove’s ‘I Go Boom’ in addition to Lee Gamble and Mile Whittaker’s (Demdike Stare) interpretation of Cosmin TRG’s ‘Noise Code’. Spanning across two discs, this is a hugely exhaustive package from the who’s who of today’s electronic music.
