Tina Records continues to mine the Roberto Musci vault with this new compilation entitled Cargo Cult. Though active since the 1980s, interest around Musci’s work has spiked in the wake of similar collections from imprints like Music from Memory and Oxmose that focused more on his ambient and modern-classical motifs. Cargo Cult differs however in that it pulls from some of Musci’s recordings that paired acoustic instruments with drum machines, synths, and more digital noise, adding another layer to the Italian ethnomusicologist’s story. Includes remixes from Nokuit and the legendary power electronics mastermind William Bennett aka Cut Hands.

Landing somewhere between Clock DVA, Throbbing Gristle, Cabaret Voltaire etc and the intense intoxicating visions of Jon Hassell - we highly recommend this one.
