Trentemoller’s ‘Lost’ was a persuasive and rewarding full length which conjured up a sense of surreal, dark narrative that one might associate with the films of David Lynch, and the In My Room imprint here issue an instrumental version which shows another side to the album. The ambient beauty of ‘The Dream’ effectively offsets a collection of cuts dominated by mechanical drum patterns which manage to simultaneously summon up the spirit of electro and post-punk in their sense of propulsive dread, particularly on the excellent ‘River of Life’, where a bare-bones guitar makes an attractive cameo.
