On the second of two new remix 12”s, Darkstar rework choice takes from their 2013 LP ‘News From Nowhere’ alongside formidable UK producer Zomby. Zomby’s remix of ‘You Don’t Need a Weatherman’ produces the kind of poignant yet threatening magic for which the artist is so revered, with walls of degraded vocals echoing against a ticking beat which is alternately half-step and jungle influenced. Darkstar’s retake on ‘Timeaway’ matches the best of Four Tet in its glittery, luxurious take on shuffling techno, while ‘Hold Me Down’ is more euphoric, with video game synths and spiralling Tomorrow’s World machine whirrs creating a heavy wall of sound from naïve and playful elements.
