96 Back returns to the SVBKVLT label for his 6th LP entitled tender, exit. Inspired by a recent move from Manchester to London, 96 Back creates a sort of aural map between the two here, creating an emotional push/pull that often takes on the feel of a romance on the rocks. Moving fluidly between recording fidelities, genres, and instruments, 96 Back builds a rich sonic world, tangible with fuzz and ambience. It’s not all forlorn though, tracks like the heaving ‘Bxtter’ echo back to his earlier, more dancefloor focused days without losing tender, exit’s wide-eyed energy.
