Label-hopping bass music producer Ben Hackman has come home to roost on Futureboogie, this time alone after his electro-disco hookup with Jabru in early 2013 for the label. The ‘Change My Life’ EP is just as melodic as that release but switches styles to a more straight-up dance floor sound, with the title track threading hazy organs and strings around a driving 4/4 beat, intimate and dynamic all at once. On the flip-side, ‘We Make Delicious’ adds sensual female vocals to the same recipe, while ‘Lost From Me’ takes things darker, fusing sparkling guitar with a mutilated bass pad.
