Erased Tapes reissue Peter Broderick’s excellent debut album Float in a remastered version by German composer and collaborator Nils Frahm including two exclusive bonus tracks. As a former member of the live set up of the Danish band Efterklang and with now various solo releases, soundtrack works and collaborations, the American musician has built up an impressive discography. It was on Float where the Oregonian multi-instrumentalist first showcased his unique compositional approach in a comprehensive manner. Centred around deliberate piano and string arrangements, he creates sensible spheres of a variety of emotions as they unfold. His debut placed Brockerick in a lineage of contemporary classical composers whose solo works have an overwhelming cinematic power, drawing pictures and scenes with their harmonics and song progressions.
