Following her joint performance series with the legendary Suzanne Ciani at the MoMA in 2023, Sarah Davachi surfaces her latest release of durational music: Music For A Bellowing Room. Soundtracking fellow LA based filmmaker Dicky Bahto’s visuals, this is one of Davachi’s truly monolithic works, in stature and sound. The slow, gentle sustain of bowed strings emerges from silence and into a lapping sea of textural transients, undulating and forming gyres in the smoke and wash of sonics. Travelling further into these pieces involves wading into deep, ringing overtones, where a total merging of acoustic and electronic awaits.
