eMMplekz is the collaborative project of Ekoplekz and Baron Mordant, and here they return with their hallucinatory blend of spoken word and mind-bending, psyched-out darkness for a second album on Mordant Music. It's unsettling, Mordant's drawling, deadpan vocals grittily mixing with deep pools of knackered dub and visceral, teeth-gritting noise. Ekoplekz's abrasive style is a good match for the lyrical mode of the album, and the result is some of the finest work from both composers.
