Kurt Vile returns with his group The Violators for another trip into the vaults of classic rock 'n' roll on Matador. There’s an unabashed sincerity and emotion in the delivery of tracks like ‘The Ghost of Freddie Roach’ and ‘Snowflakes Extended’ which makes them peculiarly affecting, especially in their stripped-back simplicity. The addition of synthetic elements on ‘Wedding Budz’ gives Vile’s sound an extra variety that keeps it from being predictable on this charming EP.
