The latest Mute reissue of the Sheffield mould-breakers' work is their seventh album, the one named after a white supremacist group and with a charting single about self-abuse. It may have sealed their fate with Virgin back in 1985 but it still sounds fantastic in all its newly restored glory: bass-led machine jazz on ‘Golden Halos’; funky electropop on ‘Kickback’. What founder member Chris Watson took with him on departure, Kirk and Mallinder made up for in risks.
