Rotterdam label Clone Aqualung Series brings two classic cuts from a Detroit master back to wax for its 10th anniversary with this reissue of Der Zyklus’ Elektronisches Zeitecho / Mathematische Modelle 12”. Out of print for far too long, these tracks find Zyklus exploring club ready propulsion and placid home listening through a nostalgist lens with masterful touch. The A side ‘Elektronisches Zeitecho’ wonderfully splits the difference between classic Detroit machine funk and retrofuturist video game scoring, while the flip ‘Mathematische Modelle’ retools krautrock-era electronica with some modern amenities.
