Enigmatic producer Ekoplekz steps out of the shadows for his Selvamancer debut LP (and first release in over 5 years) entitled Dirtbokz. A regular on labels like Planet Mu and Perc Trax in the 2010s, Ekoplekz has mostly stayed out of the spotlight in the time since, and we now know the Bristol man had been tinkering away at a new, more immediate sound. In fact, Dirtbokz is practically bursting with urgency, all hardware synths and drum machines practically steaming from activity, and with very few overdubs or production quirks to distract. Recorded straight to 4-track cassette at home, the mini-LP is a welcome reintroduction to the Ekoplekz oeuvre.
