After her first EP Angelica seesawed between sugary pop productions and serrated club stomps, TAAHLIAH’s debut album spreads her elastic production skills even further as she steps into her own singing voice. Gramarye gets up close and confrontational with TAAHLIAH’s feelings, a backdrop that amplifies the tenderness of tracks like ‘Cherish’, with glittering guitar driven passages making room for soulbaring vocals and Dev Hynes’ croons decorating the edges, or the molten dancefloor ripper ‘Boys’ furiously strutting through steamy, playful, acidic lyrics and thrusting beats.
