Music From Memory all stars in Marco Stark (Young Marco) and John Moods (The Zenmenn) have teamed up for a new project called Dead Sound. Into The Void, their debut full length, was the result of a fruitful few days of restless creative energy earlier in 2024 following longstanding and mutual admiration. While Stark and Moods come at the concept of psychedelia from different angles in their various other projects, the woozy swagger of classic dream pop and the cinematic scope of post rock and electronica provide Dead Sound their guiding lights. It’s the small details that really win out here like the bits of string filigree between the buzzing distortion on the title track, or the reverb-y bird calls on ‘Coming Home’. A true studio-as-instrument collection from two masters at sound sculpture.
