Dutch institution Clone continues to rerelease some of the most sought-after classic house jams through their Classic Cuts series; here recovering Jovonn’s 1992 cult Jersey hit ‘House Ala Carte’. Avid collectors will be aware that originals fetch silly prices on auction sites, unsurprisingly so with the jacking grooves on “Project X” sounding as fresh today as they did on sweat drenched 90’s dance floors. Although, it is the dub groove on “This Thing Is Jammin’ (dub)” that takes the money here, carrying a timeless swinging rhythm amidst the simplistic vocal sample.
