EVM128’s ‘Make Me Feel’ explores the kind of sultry r&b and garage tinged house music which label Somethink Sounds have made their signature on releases from producers such as Eliphino. ‘Make Me Feel’, featuring the vocals of Londoner BB James explores the sounds of classic 2-step, with soulful vocals and funking keys, and ‘Respect’ adds euphoric swathes of rave chords to this heady mix. El B and Artefact’s remix’s keep things weighty, and lean towards a more house-orientated jack, but Palace’s more mellow take on the lead track is the standout, giving the more extrovert elements of the original a more voluptuous warmth.
