Björk released a real treat back in 2023: probably her poppiest song ever almost lost to time, reanimated with a superstar cast. ‘Oral’ is now repurposed with all profits going to Björk’s AEGIS charity; lyrics like “Is that the right thing to do?” and “There’s a line there, I can’t cross it” cross contexts from budding love to protest like, with her Vespertine era vocals mirrored by 21st century pop sensation Rosalíá, crystal clear strings and utopian flutes woven into sweet melodies, and erupting in dancehall beats courtesy of Sega Bodega’s coproduction. Olof Dreijer’s remix caramelises the song into a fluctuating, hyper dancefloor monster, with wild, ecstatic, buzzing synth modulations.
