Sunroof, the collaboration between Mute Records founder Daniel Miller and producer/engineer Gareth Jones (Depeche Mode, Einstürzende Neubauten, Erasure, etc.) returns to Mute’s Parallel Series for the third instalment of their Electronic Music Improvisations collection. Once again built up entirely from a series of meticulously-tuned Eurorack modular synth systems, Vol. 3 finds the duo pushing their self-imposed boundaries to their very limit. The tape-hissed opening ‘Splendid’ also recorded onto a 70’s 4-track on which MIller recorded many early gems.
