Following 2023’s Standers, Craven Faults continues the story of the post industrial British landscape, this time gliding over Europe to explore the boundaries of the land made through natural form and human force. Metallic groans sweep across the cities in ‘Long Stoop’, with fizzling energy and inquisitively pacing bass [giving] a sense of searching. A confluence of synth ripples and gently thudding percussion flows through ‘Groups Hollows’, mystically building before the sharp cyclical strums of ‘Waste & Demesne’ enter a longform timbral metamorphosis through dynamic arpeggios, icy keys, and anthemic layers of trombone, in a whistling minimal soundscape of geographic evolution.
