Henry Collins and Richard Wilson here issue their first joint recording on Mike Paradinas’ Planet Mu as Misty Conditions. Created in online exchanges between LA and France, ‘D’ZZZZ’ is a collection of highly abstracted hip-hop excursions, a great departure from Collins’ well-loved junglist project Shitmat. Taking hip-hop’s language of samples and slow grooves into the realms of real rumbling bass and distortion, the LP feels like a true Planet Mu record but approached from a more conventional starting point.
