Detroit ambient techno legend Rod Modell once again puts aside his Deepchord alias for a new collection of soothingly functional music on the 13 label entitled Music For Bus Stations. Intended as titled, Modell’s blissed out tones and tactile fuzz here were inspired by and meant to mimic (or even enhance) the peculiar gravity and audio quality of time spent waiting for the bus. The radical architecture of stations in Hamburg and Pforzheim also played into Modell’s practice here as well, deepening the ever-rich cultural exchange between Germany and the motor city.
