Minimal Wave release a stunning 7" single from Sandra Plays Electronics, a musical project of Regis developed while he was a teenager in '80s Birmingham. Whilst he has since become best known for his dark, stark take on techno, on this release that desolate sound sees its release in two tracks of steely, roughened post-punk. 'Her Needs (1988)' was recorded at the soundcheck of a performance at the College of Food And Domestic Arts while the second version of the track was recorded as part of a session in 1999. The ticking rhythm and growling low-end of the first version is subsumed within a collage of seesawing noise, while the noise is far heavier and more crushing on the later version.
