Over the last ten year Dominick Schofield has transitioned from guitar based-dabbles through to building the kind of dystopian ambient soundscapes found on new EP, pHilter path. Featuring reworks of his previous pH series set alongside newer material, the flashes of pounding techno and Vangelis-style dramatics sound particularly crisp amidst downtempo rhythms, precision percussion and a relentless 4/4 pummel. It means these five tracks rarely miss an agitated beat with the modem crash momentum of pH4.1 and itchy hi-hat of closer, pH4.4, two highlights.
