Dave Huismans’ latest killer 12” is this double-header of big, Michael Bay-sized techno; ironically intended as an alternative soundtrack to a lesser known Scorsese movies. ‘After Hours’ imagines the night antics of Griffin Dunne through chunky trip-hop beats, the rhythms swathed in dubplate static and dialogue clips from the film. Flipside ‘What Preset’ features harsher percussion and grunting, swine-like low-end. If this is what Huismans makes of a black comedy, we’re anxious to see his take on Goodfellas.
