Detroit electro don DJ Stingray 313 returns to the recording wing of Berlin techno institution Tresor for a new EP entitled INDUSTRY 4.0. No doubt inspired by the clanging industrial bent of Tresor’s cavernous environs, Stingray’s palette here recalls sheet metal, power tools, and wrought iron, but not without plenty of swing in the hydraulics. With track titles that poke at AI and robotics plus a cover that zooms in on a mysterious microchip, there's plenty of his patented retrofuturism at play as well. The sound of a master at work.
