On this, his fourteenth release, Bill Callahan gets out the most soulful and sensual offering of his career to date. ‘Dream River’ traverses eight compositions, featuring the rustic sounds of violin and lush, sweeping arrangements. There are also Latin jazz rhythms, such as on the bold ‘Javelin Unlanding’, as well as more atmospheric moments. Callahan produces a wild ride.
