After almost 30 years out of print, the debut self titled album from Wolfgang Voigt’s GAS project is finally reissued in its original form. Far from the slasher-esque dark atmosphere of the following Zauberberg, GAS is a bright and blurry introduction to Voigt’s world of ambient techno. Submerged susurrations fluctuate across these elusive, glistening dreamscapes, evaporating steam and vapour above the swerving deepsea rumbles and reversed sonics while slippery, cavernous four to the floor beats thump endlessly throughout.
