Released through German electronic label, BPitch Control, ‘Malice in Wonderland’ stays true to its techno roots. More of a deep, tech hit than a foundation-shaking pummel, ‘Irresistible’ moves through the gears seamlessly, ‘Memoirs of a Sexual Predator’ goes darker with minimal beats, and ‘Opiate Galactic’ drifts with an ease Tomas Andersson would be proud of. Mr. Statik’s penchant for vocal interludes continues to turn up the odd surprise but his commitment to turning out releases as composed as this shouldn’t be one.
