Norwegian future-disco DJ Terje Olsen managed to fit his music around a full-time physics degree. The resulting fusion produced a very interesting sound, and this three track EP is a dazzling example of one of its finest moments, repressed from the native original on Terje’s own Olsen label. ‘Inspector Norse’ shows you the kind of cheekiness you can expect: ‘70s pop quasars, a fat but insistent disco beat and colourful synth pads that build to a glittering crescendo. B-side ‘Myggsommer’ lets spooky Theremins and manipulated harp flit around each other, while ‘Swing Star’ sends a trance keyboard running around in large skittery circles, so relentless the track has to be broken down into two.
