Juan Atkins continues the much-needed reissue/remastered campaign of his back catalogue on his Metroplex label with another classic Model 500 hit in 1994’s Sonic Sunset 12”. Originally recorded with Moritz von Oswald, Sunset was yet another key-piece in the historic Detroit/Berlin cultural exchange, and these historic grooves (which drift effortlessly between early minimalist techno Atkins helped refine and the harder nosed electro to follow) have never sounded better. Three different, and no less excellent mixes of the title track here offer the goods to all kinds of DJs looking to detonate a dancefloor to this day.
