Multi-instrumentalist Mauro Remiddi moves away from the dense, layered aesthetic of last year’s album ‘Strange Weekend’ to create compositions with more space and room to breathe. On this LP, he has enlisted the help of Yuck’s Jonny Rogoff on drums and Antlers’ bassist Darby Cicci, along with others. Now making his outing on Secretly Canadian, the release fuses dense, melancholy sounds of the cello, piano and drums with gospel-esque psychedelia.
