Cologne’s Wolfgang Voigt might have a name like a Tarantino villain but the reality is much more considered: back from a ten year lay-off he’s remembered for his 1999 series of coloured vinyl, a minimal techno odyssey. ‘Freie Sicht (1)' is the first in a series of remix EPs that pushes his sound out into the club floor - snuffling white noise on Michael Mayer’s mix of ‘Gelb 3’, warehouse beats on ‘Rot 2’ care of Fast Original and a screwed-up John Carpenter soundtrack on Gaffel’s brooding take on ‘Rot 3’.
