Whilst it seems Nicolas Jaar’s Clown and Sunset label has died a death, new imprint Other People rises from the embers. Keen to showcase his own talents and those of his peers, Jaar compiles ‘Trust’ – a delicate collection of sophisticated electronica from previous label mainstays Nikita Quasim and Acid Pauli, plus a track of his own amongst others. Will Epstein’s beautiful, ambient leaning “Trust I” sets the tone with minimalist piano notes over a soft tape hiss, although it is Jaar’s own “Why Didn’t You Save Me” that sets things alight, showing how his sound has truly matured.
