'Champagne Sounds' is first of two releases from Brooklyn producer Obey City on LuckyMe - part two, 'Merlot Sounds', out in the near future. The palette he works with is shiny and slick, elegant synths unfurl, beats are insistent but buoyant, drums tumbling gracefully all around. A true digital delight, from the glistening pads of opener 'Reflect Effect', through to the euphoric flex of 'Quantum Phase', the twitchy snatches of vocal on 'Uptown Pumps' culminating in 'Fallin', lush electronics darting with summery joy.
