A collection of delicate moments and expressive instrumentation, Adrian Corker's new album 'Raise' is a lesson in composition and aural landscaping. A highly prolific film composer, Corker's storytelling ability is made abundantly clear with his use of live instruments and expertly placed electronic sound control. The Elysian Quartet also make a thrilling appearance in the piece 'Shifting Grains'. 'Interdependence' is the standout, a simple Quaker hymn-like melody played with real piano and real emotion.
