Sheffield techno experimentalists The Black Dog are again back on their Dust Science for a new LP entitled Other, While Me. Ken Downie’s run alongside the Dust (Science) brothers under The Black Dog moniker has now gone significantly longer than any other formation, the trio remain fearlessly inquisitive. A treatise of sorts on the pitfalls and triumphs of expression, Other Like Me’s dark, yet oddly soothing almost drone-metal like tones take self-doubt and misery head on in an effort to explore the spectrum of creativity. The album’s title is taken from a Cosey Fanni Tutti interview as well, placing this harshly introspective music in a long-standing continuum of industrial art.
