Holland’s Bnjmn draws inspiration from the popular bird in new EP ‘Hummingbird’ on familiar label territory - Rush Hour. Bnjmn experiments with a wide array of tempos, incorporating fast and slow elements across each of the four tracks designed to offer different perspectives for each listener. For example, opening track “Hummingbird” utilises a 140 BPM kick against rising synth chords which work to give a deceptive feel of tempo. “Slow Wave” is a less crisp affair, with fizzing noise and glitchy arpeggios. Xamiga takes up remix duties to close the EP in more driving, analogue inspired form.
