Glasgow’s Auntie Flo and JD Twitch of Optimo seem to have a gripe with Bob Geldof: when they set up Autonomous Africa last year, they did so to distribute music that shows the extent of other countries’ interference in the continent. This four-track collection sees them joined by Aus Music’s Midland who contributes crunchy digital Afro-beat on ‘Checkbob’; Twitch does tribal drums/bonkers chiming on ‘Olaiya’ and ‘JuJu’ while Flo’s ‘Water of Life’ gives us a static-soaked piano melody.
