Stephen Bishops’ experimental edged Opal Tapes label continues to push the boundaries in the world of abstracted electronics, this time offering Sweden’s MCMXCI’s huge ‘Och Flaskan’. Originally released on cassette, MCMXCI's brash tones cut right to the bone. 'Untitled 1' is a stripped back slice of arid abstract techno, glitching and twisting around rumbling sub bass. 'Untitled 4' works a similar tone with pounding deep frequencies battling against rugged synths. Compelling works from the darker end of the spectrum.
