Nashville singer-songwriter and lo-fi legend Robert Stevie Moore has a spangled history: his dad toured with Roy Orbison and Elvis Presley, and his back-catalogue’s filled with literally thousands of cassettes. This re-release of 1978’s ‘Delicate Tension’ is a (deep breath) vinyl transfer of a digital master of the original reels, and features fleshed-out bass on the breezy folk of ‘Schoolgirl’, and shuffling electro-rock - a precursor to the Primal Scream sound. Light-hearted quirkiness doesn’t often sound this brutal.
